Calling all dads! Do you have a dad joke that you particularly love? Something original I hope! Dad That Blogs is calling for submissions from you punny dads that will give you a chance to earn a few bucks and become a published author!
Your joke can be in any style, it just has to be a “Dad Joke” or about dads. We will accept any format but will publish only the best.
How much will you get paid if your work is selected for publication? Well, that depends entirely on the good graces of your friends, family, and complete strangers. While the submission period is open I will be running a campaign on IndieGoGo to raise funds for the book. 50% of the funds raised will be divided equally between each joke accepted to the book. For example, say we raise $1000 in the campaign. $500 will go to the pool for writers. In this instance, if there are 100 jokes each joke would earn you $5. If we raise $10,000 each joke will earn $50. The other 50% of the funds raised will go towards publishing and marketing the book as well as fundraising fees including the incentive prizes for people interested in the project.
Each writer who has a joke selected will also receive an ebook version of the completed book.
How to Enter:
Simply send an email to [email protected] with your name, best contact email, and your joke.
We will get back to you as soon as possible but payment and final confirmation will not be made until the submission period is closed. Get your joke in as soon as possible because if similar jokes are submitted the person who submitted their version first will be credited.
Note: All writer’s who are selected to be published will receive a one-time payment only in an amount to be determined at the close of the submission period. The writer will retain rights to their joke but is giving Dad That Blogs license for use in The Ultimate Dad Jokes Book. A signed acknowledgment will be required before payment is released and the joke is confirmed for publication.
Writers may contribute to the campaign but in doing so will not increase their odds of publication.
